Dear Coaches:

SSC would like to thank each of you who volunteer so much of your time and energy to coach each year.  The success of our program relies on our volunteer coaches. We would like to be as much of a resource to all of you as possible.

If this is your first year coaching travel soccer, there are a few things you will need to do right away:

1). Go onto Got Soccer and register yourself as a coach

2). Complete Risk Management process, including concussion quiz (the system will prompt you to complete both of these)

3). Complete Coach training certification class (reimbursed by SSC)

Currently offered Soccer Maine coaching courses can be found here.

Stay tuned for a new SSC Coaches Guide document, which will be emailed to all of you before the season begins, and also posted here.

Coaches can find information on Soccer Maine required coaching certifications, code of conduct and coaching manual here.

Personnel Support for Coaches/Teams:

We highly recommend that you enlist the help of another parent to act as your Team Manager.  They will help with communication to the team, updating on practice schedules, coordinating "Friendlies," etc.

If you have any general questions about coaching, licenses, timelines, practices or games, please contact Andy Taranko, VP of Coaching at
